Once upon a time, Carmelo Anthony dominated a full week of news within the Brooklyn Nets‘ community. Well, pour one out for the former New York Knicks superstar. The Melo-to-Brooklyn storyline appears to be on its last legs.
In his recent NBA wrapup column, Shams Charania of The Athletic dropped Thor’s hammer on Melo’s homecoming in Brooklyn.
“The Nets are very unlikely to sign Anthony as of now, league sources told The Athletic,” wrote Charania.
Charania mentioned that multiple Nets players were still hoping to bring Melo aboard, but they ultimately trusted Brooklyn’s front office with the final decision.
