It sure sounds like Carmelo Anthony would like to join the Brooklyn Nets.
Still without an NBA team, the former Knicks star spoke to TMZ and was asked about Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving pushing for the Nets to sign the 10-time All-Star.
“That’s family, so that’s bigger than basketball,” Anthony told TMZ. “If something happens, something’s gonna happen. Everybody will know if something happens.”
A source recently told The Post’s Brian Lewis that several veteran Nets were lobbying the front office to sign the 35-year-old Anthony — who hasn’t played since last November after being traded by the Houston Rockets and waived by the Chicago Bulls — with The Athletic reporting that Durant and Irving in particular were trying to make it happen.
