One more win and Dennis Schroder will have made his mark internationally once again as Germany heads into the men’s basketball medal round. With 13 points and eight assists, Schroder led Germany to a big 85-73 win Tuesday over Greece, moving his team to the Olympic Final Four.
And perhaps, he’ll be able to get a bit of revenge for his new head coach, Jordi Fernandez, whose Canadian team lost to Victor Wembanyama et al Tuesday in what has to be the biggest upset of the Olympic men’s basketball tournament. Despite a subpar performance by Wemby, at least in terms of points, Canada had no answer for the rest of the French national team, including a former Brooklyn Nets stash, losing 82-73 in a game that was really never in doubt.
