Brooklyn Nets: What the Blake Griffin trade means to Brooklyn

First and foremost, the Brooklyn Nets need to acknowledge the threat the Detroit Pistons have become. With a premier pick-and-roll point guard in Reggie Jackson and the Andre Drummond-Griffin frontcourt, they should be a mainstay in the playoff conversation. The Pistons are a threat in the Eastern Conference.

This spells trouble for a future Nets’ playoff push. Although Brooklyn has improved its frontcourt, they still struggle defensively. Drummond and Griffin would feast if the two ever met in the postseason.

Secondly, and most importantly, a host of Nets become incredibly valuable trade assets. Like Harris, many Nets pride themselves on their versatility.
