The Brooklyn Nets continued their intriguing offseason with the acquisition of backup wingman Wayne Ellington, signing him to a deal worth approximately $1.9 million dollars next season. After losing out on re-signing knockdown shooters Alan Anderson and Mirza Teletovic, adding Ellington is critical for the Nets in terms of keeping viable perimeter talent around Joe Johnson on the wing.

On the offensive end, Ellington compliments the Brooklyn supporting cast seamlessly. While he’s not the same player Anderson is, Ellington’s skillset does mirror his in numerous ways, which should allow him to be a fairly effective replacement off the bench.
