The Brooklyn Nets haven’t won a season series from the Charlotte Hornets since they changed their name from the Bobcats in 2014-15.
They can change that Friday night with a victory over the visiting Hornets (28-33), a win that would wrap up a 3-1 season-series win, the first for Brooklyn (32-31) over Charlotte since 2013-14.
Both teams are coming in off losses, with the Nets dropping a 125-116 decision to the Washington Wizards at Barclays Center on Wednesday that was nowhere near as close as the score indicates.
Charlotte dropped its third straight game Wednesday at home, falling to the Houston Rockets 118-113.
