In order to open a needed roster spot for newly acquired center Greg Monroe, the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday terminated the 10-day contract of forward Mitch Creek.
The Nets announced the move Thursday afternoon.
Creek, 26, had been signed to his second 10-day contract on Monday after initially joining the Nets on Jan. 25, filling the roster spot opened when Brooklyn waived Kenneth Faried on Jan. 19.
The Nets needed the spot after sending cash considerations to the Toronto Raptors just before the 3 p.m. Eastern trade deadline Thursday in exchange for Monroe and Toronto’s 2021 second-round draft pick.
