Since taking the job in 2016, Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks has worked to clean up the mess he inherited, much of which stemmed from the July 2013 trade with the Boston Celtics that sent the Nets into one of the worst positions in NBA history.
That one trade executed by former general manager Billy King stripped the club of most of its young players, as well as its first-round pick in four of the last five drafts.
With the Nets are still suffering from a lack of draft assets, Marks decided to absorb unwanted contracts around the league.
