Brooklyn Nets news: Nets decline K.J. McDaniels team option

Shams Charania of the Vertical reported Monday that the Brooklyn Nets had declined K.J. McDaniels’ team option for the 2017-18 season. McDaniels had a $3 million guarantee General Manager Sean Marks chose not to pick up. The Clemson University product is now a free agent.

Nick Silva of ESPN believes that this will lead to McDaniels looking for his fourth NBA team in as many years. Silva believes the Nets will not tender McDaniels a qualifying offer. That would make him an unrestricted free agent when the free agent moratorium begins this Saturday.
