According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Brooklyn Nets point guard Greivis Vasquez is pushing for a return sooner than anticipated. Vasquez has told reporters that he will be ready for the season opener on October 26 in Boston.
The 29-year-old Venezuelan is recovering from a right ankle injury he suffered last December. Overall, his offseason rehabilitation has seemed promising. He appeared to have no problems moving around at open practice on Saturday. Vasquez has also been scrimmaging with his Nets teammates and implied that he may even see some action during the preseason.
