In a shocking Sunday afternoon announcement, the Brooklyn Nets have announced the firing of head coach Lionel Hollins and the “reassignment” of General Manager Billy King. The inevitable of Hollins firing was going to happen eventually but with Brooklyn’s woeful play as of late Ownership couldn’t wait.
Tony Brown will take over as the team’s interim coach for the time-being until Brooklyn finds a replacement. King’s reassignment is reportedly ownerships way of saving face. Brooklyn reportedly is ready to make a major push to hire John Calipari as the head coach and GM. For now and most likely the remainder of the season, Brown will be the coach and Brooklyn will remain without a GM.
