Brooklyn Nets fill final roster spot, sign Akil Mitchell

The Brooklyn Nets have signed Akil Mitchell from their G-League affiliate Long Island Nets. Mitchell is the 20th and final player on the Nets training camp roster.

Mitchell appeared in four games for the Long Island Nets, during the 2016-17 season and averaged 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 28.6 minutes per contest. He’s a 6’9” forward from the University of Virginia, where he played with Joe Harris. Mitchell had been working out at the HSS Training Center for much of the summer.

Before joining the Long Island Nets, Mitchell played professionally in New Zealand and France.
