The thousands of runners who participated in the New York City marathon today weren’t the only ones jockeying for position in the Big Apple this afternoon. In their own dash to the finish line, the Nets and the Pistons were neck-and-neck with each other early this Sunday. It was the visitors though, who seemed to have and benefit from a second wind, that eventually pulled away from Brooklyn in the end.
Until they got out of the blocks this afternoon, the Nets were sitting comfy going into today’s contest, having added a few wins to their ledger they could hang their hat on, but still with enough track in front of them on the season to effectively “tank” should they choose.
