The Nets didn’t have quite the season that their fans hoped they were going to have coming into the 2016-17 season, but maybe their season was more predictable than we all could have thought.
With the addition of Jeremy Lin, there seemed to be a decent amount of hope for them to rebound this season after a 21-61 finish in 2015-16. Now, after falling a game shy of their record last year, they have missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Lin’s injury-riddled season may have played a part into their league-worst record, but it seemed like most analysts were already set on the Nets being the worst team in the league, even if Lin played on the court all season.
