The association’s other 29 teams won’t be the only adversary the Brooklyn Nets will be facing over next couple months. The Nets, as well as the YES Network, Canon, and the NBA are being sued by Phinge, a software brand for mobile devices, for trademark infringement over the “Netaverse,” the 3D VR NBA experience.
The lawsuit claims Phinge, which has been in the hardware and software technology business for over a decade, started offering the “Netaverse” as early as December of 2021 and began using the term to promote the goods and services of others through its websites as early as December of 2021 as well.
