Brooklyn Nets: 3 takeaways from loss at Boston block party

Any hopes the Brooklyn Nets had of ending their five-game losing streak at TD Garden got swatted away by the Boston Celtics, who blocked 16 Brooklyn shots Monday night and put the Nets away with a 13-2 run to open the fourth quarter en route to a 112-104 victory.

The loss ended a six-game winning streak for the Nets (27-24) and dropped them 4½ games behind the Celtics (31-19) in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Brooklyn remained in sixth place and still holds a 1½-game lead over the Miami Heat (24-24) and a two-game lead over the Charlotte Hornets (24-25), who beat the New York Knicks at home Monday night, 101-92.
