In the first of their seven straight road games against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, things got away from the Brooklyn Nets in the second half. On Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, it didn’t take nearly that long.
After Brooklyn surged out to a quick 21-13 lead, the Jazz went on a run of epic proportions — a 27-2 avalanche over a span of 8:47 bridging the first and second quarters to turn that eight-point deficit into a 17-point lead and the Nets never really threatened after that.
The Nets (36-35) trailed by as much as 26 points and never got closer than 11 the rest of the way after the run by Utah (40-29) in taking their second consecutive loss to open the trip.
