The Brooklyn Nets and Long Island Nets are combining Monday to commemorate Martin Luther King’s legacy by participating in a day of service in the Brownsville and Crown Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn
In the morning, from 11 a.m. – noon, Long Island Nets players Trahson Burrell and R.J. Hunter will decorate postcards with kids at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and use the activity to teach the values of love, hope and peace.
In the afternoon, from 2-3 p.m., Brooklyn Nets players Trevor Booker and Sean Kilpatrick will help build and paint benches and book shelves for reading nooks at Brownsville Ascend Lower School.
