In yet another shocking, spiraling increase in NBA franchise valuations, Joe and Clara Wu Tsai have sold a 15% minority stake in BSE Global, parent of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty and Barclays Center to members of the Koch family, led by Julia Koch. The Kochs are one of nation’s wealthiest families ... and most controversial. The Tsais will retain complete control of the teams and arena, including basketball operations. The Kochs’ investment is passive but the family will have right of first offer on any future control sale, as is common with sales of significant minority stakes.
