Anthony Davis’ vicious 2nd half ruins Brook Lopez’s dominance

NEW ORLEANS — The Nets got a spectacular night from Brook Lopez and a solid game from their bench — but none of it mattered. None of it helped, not against the dominance of Anthony Davis and the clutch shooting of Jrue Holiday.

Brooklyn squandered Lopez’s brilliant night and fell 105-103 at the Smoothie King Center because they couldn’t slow Davis in the second half and couldn’t guard Holiday.

“The guy is a bona fide star in our league,’’ Brown had gushed of Davis.

“He’s what we’re all about,’’ New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry had said.
