There’s usually an excitement cap with home openers for teams entering a rebuild. Blurred objectives for the season ahead make it difficult for the fanbase to connect with players. Big moments are nerfed by the small expectations for the team at large. They’re positive, but rather tepid affairs, much like an office party.
Nevertheless, the Brooklyn Nets threw their home opener ripper this evening at The ‘Clays. It wasn’t too shabby either — especially on a sleepy Sunday afternoon.
The Nets beat the visiting Milwaukee Bucks by a 115-102 final score, getting their first home dub of the season on their first try and Jordi Fernández’s inaugural one as head coach.
