In today's look into the bizarre set of Nets rumors surrounding current Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd, two experienced head coaches have emerged as a favorites for the team's head coaching job if Kidd leaves for Milwaukee or another NBA job.
According to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports, "veteran head coaches Lionel Hollins and George Karl would be serious candidates for the position, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Hollins, who took the Grizzlies to the Western Conference finals in 2013 and remains in the running for the Los Angeles Lakers job, is seen as the early front-runner. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the process."
Kidd's failed attempt to secure a promotion which would place him above general manager Billy King in the organization's hierarchy could lead to a very quick ending to Kidd's tenure in Brooklyn.
The Nets have granted the Milwaukee Bucks permission to speak with Kidd, although the terms of the job Kidd would undertake in Milwaukee are unknown as of this time. Kidd has a preexisting (and good) relationship with one of the Bucks' new owners, Marc Lasry, who previously held an ownership stake in the Nets.
Chat Sports will continue to have more on this perplexing situation as additional information is made available.
