In today's Nets news update, the Brooklyn Nets may shopping Brook Lopez prior to the 2014 NBA Draft, with one team emerging as a potential trade suitor.
Per Net Income of SBNation.com, Fox Sports Ohio writer Sam Amico was asked about who he thought the Cleveland Cavs may be able to target to upgrade their roster this offseason. After mentioning Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins, Amico added one more name to the list:
"What I have heard and what I think is going to happen --it would be a risky move-- but that Brook Lopez is very available. That could be an intriguing name for you."
Per the SBNation.com report, the conversation did not imply that the Cleveland Cavs would be willing to part with their first overall pick for Lopez, or any combination of Lopez and other considerations.
Amico didn't comment further on the matter, leaving Lopez's status with the Brooklyn Nets out there in the ether.
The Nets would most likely command a ransom in order to give up Lopez, but don't be surprised if a team starving for a talented big man is willing to pay that price.
