In a major development in the strange story surrounding Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd and his rebuffed attempt at gaining a promotion with the Nets' organization, the Milwaukee Bucks have made what could be termed as a final offer via trade to bring Kidd on as their next head coach.
According to Andy Katz of ESPN.com, "Jason Kidd will be the next head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks if the Brooklyn Nets agree to the Bucks' terms of a 2015 second-round draft pick in exchange for Kidd, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN on Sunday."
The source also indicated that the Nets want a first-round pick in exchange for Kidd - a request that the Bucks have declined.
"If the Nets agree then there will be a deal, if they don't then [the Bucks] are comfortable moving on and there will be nothing further to talk about," ESPN's source said, via Katz's article on Sunday night. "The only thing (the Bucks) would give them is a second-round pick. They want a first. In the next 24 hours, there will either be a deal or there won't be a deal."
The same source indicates that the Bucks have only talked to Kidd about a potential head coaching slot and not about the extended power of president of basketball operations which Kidd was seeking in Brooklyn.
Furthermore, the Bucks' current head coach, Larry Drew, has not been consulted during this process.
Chat Sports will have more on this developing story as additional information is made available.
