Williams named to BG football staff

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University football program has added Jimmy Williams, a former Detroit Lions standout who has been an assistant coach at Toledo and several other Mid-American Conference schools, as its new defensive line coach.

Williams was the D-line coach for the Rockets in 2002 when Toledo advanced to the MAC championship game. He also has coached at Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan.

"I am extremely excited to join the BGSU coaching staff, the university and the Bowling Green community," Williams said in a release. "I'm thankful to coach Mike Jinks and defensive coordinator Carl Pelini for the opportunity to join the staff and make an impact on the defensive side of the ball.
