BOWLING GREEN — Four days after winning the Battle of I-75 Trophy for the first time, Jack Kramer won something almost as good on Wednesday at Bowling Green practice.
The redshirt senior center made sure his half of the team avoided dreaded up-downs by making an extra point to conclude practice.
Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler said the defense won competitive drills Monday, but the offense won Tuesday, so they decided the winner with a kicking competition Wednesday.
This time, the Falcons had a little bit of fun by using linemen to kick extra points. After freshman defensive lineman Andrew Bench missed his kick on behalf of the defense, the 301-pound Kramer stepped to the 10-yard line and booted an extra point that set off a celebration of orange practice jerseys.
