USWNT upset by Sweden, ending unbeaten run

The United States women's national team began their Tokyo 2020 Olympics campaign with a 3-0 defeat against Sweden at the Tokyo Stadium in Japan on Wednesday, ending their 44-match unbeaten run in emphatic fashion.

Prematch, this clash had been billed as one of the most competitive ties, pitting the World Cup-winning USWNT against Olympic silver medalists Sweden, and the team who eliminated the U.S. in 2016.
