BOWLING GREEN — Some might blame the rain that drenched Doyt Perry Stadium for the Bowling Green State University football team’s 41-21 loss to Middle Tennessee State Saturday.
Some might blame penalties, as the Falcons were flagged eight times for 79 yards — including several crucial calls that went against BG. And some might blame plays that the Falcons were not able to make, a recurring problem this season.
But the reason Bowling Green fell to 1-2 on the season was four turnovers, three of which set up Blue Raider touchdowns with a short field.
“When you turn the ball over, you’re going to struggle,” Falcons coach Mike Jinks said.
