BOWLING GREEN — The halftime boxscore Tuesday at the Stroh Center had an eyebrow-raising line.
Justin Turner, Bowling Green’s standout sophomore guard, played most of the first half and did not score a point.
Then the man affectionately known as Juice caught fire.
Turner erupted for 23 points, including the game-winning layup with .9 seconds to go, as Bowling Green outlasted Akron 73-69.
Despite the scoreless first half, Turner still surpassed his average of 18.8 points per game, while Dylan Frye added 16 points and Demajeo Wiggins led the way with 11 rebounds before fouling out.
