The game was played at the M.A.C. Center in Kent, Ohio. The Falcons were called for a foul with 3.4 seconds left, and KSU made both free throws to escape with the win.

The final 20 seconds saw four lead changes. An offensive rebound and layup by Demajeo Wiggins gave Bowling Green a 61-60 advantage with 20 seconds left.
