BOWLING GREEN — The University of Toledo baseball team set a program record with its 12th straight victory in beating Bowling Green 6-1 on Saturday in the opening game of a doubleheader at Steller Field.
The 12-game winning streak surpassed the 11 consecutive games the Rockets won in 2011.
The Falcons stopped the Rockets' streak with a 7-6 victory in the second game.
"We played really good baseball in Game 1," Toledo coach Rob Reinstetle said in a release. "Kyle Jones had another dominant start and Cal McAninch was good in relief. The offense executed and did a great job, despite some tough wind conditions today.
