Hillsdale, Mich./Ashland, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University track and field team grabbed three Mid-American Conference automatic bids and the Falcons shattered personal bests in almost every event as the team competed at two meets Friday. BGSU's throwers were at the Ashland Alumni Open and the remainder of the team was at the Gina Relays, hosted by Hillsdale.
At Hillsdale, 12-of-16 Falcons set personal bests. Redshirt freshman Rachel Walny earned a MAC automatic bid in the 5000 and senior Andrea Alt did the same in the 3000 steeplechase.
In the 5000 championship race, Walny ran 16:51.
