BOWLING GREEN — Matt McDonald and his Bowling Green State University football teammates sensed something different the morning of Sept. 25, 2021 in Minneapolis.
There was an aura and a heightened level of confidence the Falcons had that perhaps no one outside of the program could understand.
“You can ask any of the guys that were there; when we woke up that morning eating breakfast, there was just like a different feeling in the air. You could feel that we were going to pull this off,” said McDonald, BGSU’s starting quarterback from 2020 to 2022 who finished his career ranked in the top 10 in program history in multiple passing categories.
