Dave Litzenberg couldn’t be prouder to be a Bowling Green State University baseball alum.
Not just because of the historic success the Falcons are having this season, but for how his fellow former Falcons rallied together to save the program just four years ago.
Litzenberg, a 1981 BGSU graduate, helped lead the alumni-based fundraising efforts in May, 2020, that resulted in the school bringing back the baseball program. After BGSU dropped baseball as part of its effort to shave $2 million off the department of athletics budget following the coronavirus pandemic, the Save Baseball at BGSU campaign — in less than three weeks — reached its goal of $1.
