MANKATO, Minn. — St. Francis de Sales graduate Brendan Furry scored an overtime goal to lift No. 8 Minnesota State to a 3-2 victory over Bowling Green in CCHA college hockey action on Friday.
Bowling Green (2-5, 1-2 CCHA) battled back furiously from a 2-0 deficit with two goals in the third period.
Adam Pitters scored 3:29 into the final period, and then Austen Swankler notched a power-play tally with just 56 seconds remaining in regulation.
Furry ended the game 4:05 into overtime.
Ondrej Pavel gave Minnesota State a 1-0 lead in the first period before Tanner Edwards added on another tally in the second period.
