BOWLING GREEN — Austen Swankler has taken his game to another level for Bowling Green State University’s hockey team this season.
A change in the sophomore’s mindset and a strong group of teammates have been big reasons why he’s second in the nation in points.
“I came into this year knowing after last year having a tough end to my freshman year, struggling with producing, I just wanted to have fun this year and not take it so seriously and stress myself out about it,” he said this week.
Swankler, a 6-foot, 185-pound forward, has been one of the top offensive threats not only in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, but the NCAA.
