BOWLING GREEN — Todd Simon’s fashion statement in his first game as Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball coach perfectly summed up the night.
The flashy, bright orange suit jacket that he donned seemed to represent the amount of fun that he, his players, and the fans had on an exciting evening at the Stroh Center.
“It seemed to fit the occasion,” Simon said. “1-0 in it, it’ll stay in the rotation, I think. It survived, it was fun.”
Nearly everything went right for Simon and his squad as a stellar defensive performance from his new group of players highlighted a 70-41 season-opening victory over Chicago State on Monday.
