BOWLING GREEN — Morgan Sharps and Amy Velasco combined for 50 points, but Bowling Green State University women’s basketball could not keep up with Kent State, losing 82-74 to the Golden Flashes at the Stroh Center on Saturday.
The Falcons (10-8, 4-4 Mid-American Conference) never trailed by double digits, but they also never led at any point after the first quarter. Kent State (13-5, 7-1), one of the top teams in the MAC, always had enough to ward off BGSU’s comeback attempts.
Sharps’ 30 points were the game high as she made 6 of 12 3-point attempts and shot 47.
