BOWLING GREEN — On paper, it’s a classic case of two teams headed in opposite directions.
Bowling Green is the program seemingly hitting its stride, having knocked off a quality opponent in Miami last week on the strength of a stifling defensive performance for its second win in three games. Central Michigan, meanwhile, won last week against Akron, but is a loss away from having to win out to attain bowl eligibility.
Needless to say, an air of desperation will surround the Falcons’ final scheduled Saturday game of the 2022 season. Coach Scot Loeffler is fond of dividing up Bowling Green’s schedule into three seasons: the nonconference slate, the Saturday conference slog of October, and the weeknight, made-for-TV grind of November.
