San Jose, Calif. - Bowling Green alumnus Ryan Carpenter has been called up to the National Hockey League by the San Jose Sharks. Carpenter is expected to make his NHL debut tonight with the Sharks when they face the Minnesota Wild at 10:30 pm ET.
Carpenter would be the third Falcon to play in an NHL game this year, joining Ottawa Senators goalie Andrew Hammond (2009-13) and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Bieksa (2000-04). He would also be the second player coached by Chris Bergeron and the current staff to play in the NHL (along with Hammond).
