LYNCHBURG, Va. – The rushing attack for Bowling Green State University’s football team made a pretty big statement on Saturday.
The Falcons will be a force to be reckoned with on the ground this season.
As much as BGSU’s passing game struggled with five interceptions in a 34-24 season-opening loss at Liberty, the Falcons’ running game excelled. BGSU rumbled for 191 yards on the ground, its most in a game since Oct. 30, 2021 (221 in a win at Buffalo) and the fifth-most in fifth-year coach Scot Loeffler’s tenure.
“This is one of the biggest rushing games we’ve had in a long time, so I feel like it gave our team confidence that they know that we can run the ball now,” BGSU junior running back Ta’ron Keith said.
