BOWLING GREEN — Around northwest Ohio, hearing the name of one of the first members of Bowling Green State University’s 2017 football signing class would likely produce a shoulder shrug.
But fans of Big 12 football, especially at Texas Tech, will quickly recognize the name of quarterback Jarret Doege, who recently committed to the Falcons.
Doege’s older brother Seth was a two-year starter at Texas Tech, throwing for 4,004 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior in 2011 before passing for 4,205 yards and 39 TDs as a senior the following year.
Seth Doege saw action with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2014, then joined the new staff of coach Mike Jinks at BG as a graduate assistant.
