Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Medical Mutual Athletes of the Week, as selected by the strategic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are basketball players Daeqwon Plowden and Lexi Fleming.
Daeqwon Plowden, a senior from Philadelphia, Pa., averaged 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds as the men's basketball team went 1-1 to open the 2020-21 season. After a 15-point, seven-rebound effort at No. 25 Michigan, Plowden had a career day in the Falcons' 101-78 home-opening victory over South Carolina State.
