BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team gave a packed Stroh Center crowd something to cheer about late in Tuesday’s showdown with No. 1 South Carolina.
Even with the game well out of reach, the Falcons’ effort was among plenty of positives BGSU took away in its first contest against a top-ranked team.
A pair of steals and an offensive rebound from Lexi Fleming with less than three minutes left led to a roaring applause from the crowd. Despite falling 93-62 to a juggernaut South Carolina squad, BGSU did what it has all year — play until the final buzzer.
