No. 9 Notre Dame easily handles Bowling Green

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — College sports history is rife with underdogs spoiling the party, but unfortunately for Bowling Green, their visit to Notre Dame Stadium went exactly how most outsiders expected it would.

No. 9 Notre Dame overwhelmed Bowling Green on Saturday, and the Irish coasted to a 52-0 victory against the Falcons in the first ever meeting between the two programs.

Bowling Green (1-4) closed as a 45.5-point underdog against Notre Dame (4-1), the biggest spread for Notre Dame since at least 1995 and the biggest in the history of the Falcons’ program.

Bowling Green forced Notre Dame to punt on the first possession of the game, but the Irish leaned on their sizable talent advantage and had no trouble thereafter.
