MANKATO, Minn. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team saw a modest two-game winning streak snapped in a 4-0 loss Friday night at Minnesota State.
In the opening game of a weekend series that will serve as a big test for the Falcons, No. 8 Bowling Green fell behind in the second period and could not recover against No. 6 Minnesota State as the Mavericks scored two power-play goals in the second period and backed those up with two even-strength goals in the third.
The Falcons were shut out for the first time this season.
Minnesota State scored the first goal of the game on a power play midway through the second period.
