BOWLING GREEN — The No. 8 Bowling Green State University hockey team scored three goals in the first period en route to securing a 6-3 victory over Western Collegiate Hockey Association rival No. 18 Michigan Tech on Friday at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
The Falcons (15-4, 4-1 WCHA) scored their first two goals within the opening 4:13 of the contest, and the game was 2-1 in favor of the Falcons just 4:58 into action.
Justin Wells opened the scoring for BGSU 1:37 into the start of the game, assisted by Gavin Gould and Evan Dougherty. Will Cullen made it 2-0 in favor of Bowling Green at the 4:13 mark, with assists coming from Wells and Taylor Schneider.
