New opponent, no problem: BGSU ready to resume ever-changing schedule

BOWLING GREEN — The normally cut-and-dried world of scheduling intra-conference basketball games currently reads more like a story problem at the end of a middle-school math test.

If three teams in the Mid-American Conference are unable to play a total of six games as scheduled, and the league has 12 total teams, how many games have to be moved to keep the other nine teams playing conference games into next week?

The answer for this round of stoppages turned out to be four games moved up in addition to the six postponements — though four of the changes impact Bowling Green, which finds itself forced to adapt as a result of coronavirus issues at Kent State and Miami, both of which were scheduled to play the Falcons during a seven-day period starting Wednesday.
