BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green's trip to the NCAA tournament in 2019 was notable for many reasons, the first of which was the ending of a drought that had lasted since 1990.
At the tournament, the Falcons pushed eventual champion Minnesota-Duluth to the brink before losing in overtime, the clearest sign yet that a BG program that nearly ceased to exist a decade prior truly could compete on a national level again.
But beyond that was the way in which Bowling Green made the tournament: With a core of sophomores who came into their own during the second half of that season.
