Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University redshirt freshman Mason Lawler has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today.
As Bowling Green's kickoff specialist, Lawler battled gusting winds and rain in Doyt L. Perry Stadium Saturday to have a stellar day. Along with averaging 50.7 yards on six kickoffs, he made three tackles on special teams.
On the opening play of the game, Lawler's kick was fielded at the Akron one-yard line and he hustled for a tackle assist at the Akron 29.
